What's the difference between the National and State portions?
The Texas real estate exam Pearson VUE administers for TREC has two portions: a National (Uniform) portion covering real estate principles most states share — agency, contracts, financing, federal law, calculations — and a State Portion covering Texas-specific law and practice — TREC rules, disclosure, closing, landlord-tenant. These lessons are split the same way, National first, in fully separate sections.
Are these lessons free?
Yes. Every lesson is free to read, with no signup required. Each one ends with a short quiz linking to that topic's free 5-question practice preview, so you can check what stuck before deciding whether to go further.
Do I need to finish pre-licensing education before using these?
TREC requires completing its approved pre-licensing courses before you can sit the exam — that requirement doesn't change, and these lessons don't replace it. They're a fast, exam-focused refresher for after your coursework is done, not a substitute for it.
How is a lesson different from just answering practice questions?
A lesson explains the concept first — why the rule exists, how it's tested, where students usually slip — then checks you with a quick question at the end. Practice questions on their own tell you whether you got something wrong; a lesson is meant to fix why.
How long does each lesson take?
Most run 5–10 minutes to read. They're written to be scanned quickly right before you test yourself, not studied like a textbook chapter.
